After the Kali Puja at the Millenium city of Odisha, Bidyadharpur located in the city celebrates Kali Puja in their locality. While the idol of Goddess Durga of Bidyadhar Puja Committee participates in the Cuttack Durga Puja festival, Kali Puja is celebrated in a grand way in the locality.
Bidyadharpur Kali puja on the eastern fringes of the city ended this week. Goddess Kali is worshiped in 3 Puja Mandaps in the locality in a unique way every year. Apart from Goddess Kali, Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, and Lord Karthikeswar are worshiped during the festive.
From Kali Puja, the localities witness the biggest gathering for the next seven days as the week-long puja here till it culminates.
There are about 30 Puja mandaps participate in the festive. Kali Puja in Bidyadharpur is believed to be one of the oldest in the city and even today following the unique tradition, the devotees carry the idols of Goddess Kali in their soldiers during the immersion procession.
